System requirements for SmartCAM V16 have not changed from SmartCAM V14/V15 which added the ACIS® solid-modeling kernel to
all applications and OpenGL graphics in the main graphics
window, additions that provide solid model import, export
and display capability. The system requirements for SmartCAM
V16 applications have been upgraded in support of those
enhancements.
SmartCAM users updating from SmartCAM V13 or earlier
applications should compare their current systems to the
current v16 system requirements and make any necessary
changes prior to installation.
Operating System
SmartCAM is supported on the following operating systems.
Microsoft Windows XP® Professional
Microsoft Windows 2000®
Microsoft Windows Vista®.
Microsoft Windows Vista
SmartCAM v16 applications are compatible with Microsoft's
newest operating system, Windows Vista. To get the best
performance from SmartCAM on Windows Vista it is highly
recommended that you meet or exceed Microsoft's recommended
hardware requirements for Vista.
Other Operating Systems
SmartCAMcnc does not support SmartCAM running on other
operating systems, and cannot provide assistance to
customers using SmartCAM on other operating systems.
Network Card
Required: Network Interface Card (a.k.a., Ethernet or
NIC card) or motherboard embedded with NIC; this device is
used with SmartCAM software licensing.
IMPORTANT: the network card does NOT need to be attached to
a network, it does, however, need to be enabled and active.
If the network card is not attached to a network, the card
must first be properly configured.
