The sheet details the manufacturing operations and the technology to be used within SmartCAM. The geometry data can be supplied via CAD or created directly within SmartCAM or a combination of the two. When AutoMill is run on the data manufacturing cutter path will be automatically generated, in most cases the user will be asked for machining depths only. Company machining standards will be used to control the cutter path process without any further input from the user. Technologies include: Auto centre and spot drilling Auto tool selection for drilled; tapped; bored; reamed and wired holes Automated Profile and Pocket machining Profile chamfering Face Milling including Flip over Cycle Toolpath Optimisation . . . . and much more AutoMill will highlight each of the manufacturing technologies in turn and if required prompt the user for additional information such as depth of feature.
